On completing this paper students will understand and be able to :

1.Critically reflect on the relevant issues and techniques used to evaluate corporations as well as long term projects.

2.Critically reflect on and discuss current empirical issues in corporate finance and valuation.

3.Critically evaluate and compare sources of finance, how they work and how they relate to theories of capital structure and dividend policies.

4.Evaluate and apply advanced tools of capital budgeting to the investing decision.

5.Develop an analytical framework for planning corporate restructuring transactions.

6.Conduct valuation of the mergers, acquisitions, and corporate divestitures transactions.

7.Analyse the various corporate governance regimes and their implications for corporations and their stakeholders.
